Netflix has revealed its latest venture into investigatory reporting today with the first trailer for the upcoming documentary The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson.

Spearheaded by David France, author of Catholic sex abuse expose Our Fathers and the AIDS activism book How to Survive a Plague, this new documentary tells the story of 1960s' gay rights activist Marsha Johnson. Johnson was responsible for founding the Transvestites Action Revolutionaries group along with her fellow figurehead Sylvia Rivera, and was instrumental in bringing LGBT issues to the fore up until her mysterious death in 1992, which police dismissed as a suicide.
