As oito travestis presas na Operação Império, na terça-feira, chegaram ontem ao Complexo Penitenciário da Papuda. A transferência do grupo acusado de tráfico de pessoas levantou uma polêmica. Nenhuma das detidas se identifica com o gênero masculino e, mesmo assim, estão em prisão preventiva em local destinado a homens. Apenas detentas com registro feminino — transexuais ou não — podem cumprir pena na Penitenciária Feminina do DF (Colmeia).
Por isso, ativistas dos direitos das travestis e de pessoas transexuais ainda não estão satisfeitos com as novas diretrizes para o tratamento de detentas nessa situação. Na quinta-feira, o subsecretário da Subsecretaria do Sistema Penitenciário do Distrito Federal (Sesipe), Osmar Mendonça de Souza, determinou uma série de mudanças no tratamento de pessoas trans. Agora, presas desse grupo não precisam ter o cabelo cortado e podem vestir sutiãs modelo top na carceragem. Além disso, a Sesipe obrigará servidores a tratarem travestis pelo nome social, não mais pelo nome masculino.
Porém, a presidente da União Libertária de Travestis e Mulheres Transexuais (Ultra), Taya Carneiro, denuncia que a ida de travestis a presídios masculinos ainda expõe o grupo à violência. Com o tratamento hormonal interrompido durante o cumprimento da pena, a prisão interrompe o processo de redesignação de gênero. “Os traumas de voltar atrás da identidade são tão terríveis que muitas não conseguem voltar a se reafirmar”, descreve Taya.
