Jackie Chan's teenage daughter has come out as a lesbian on social media platform Instagram.

Etta Ng is the Hong Kong action star's daughter with beauty queen Elaine Ng, and grew up with her mother only. She made waves online when she and girlfriend, blogger Andi Autumn, opened up about their sexuality in Instagram posts. On Oct. 6, Ng posted a photo of her silhouette against a rainbow background and captioned it with the hashtags "#lgbtqai #lgbt #lesbian #androgynous."

Her girlfriend shared a photo of them and recounted their experience as same-sex partners in Hong Kong.

"We've encountered a lot of discrimination from family, friends, and the Hong Kong society," said Andi.

"We are living in such an international city and yet so many people have their minds closed off," she observed.

Despite being a leading world economy, Hong Kong does not fully recognise the rights of the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) community. There is no anti-discrimination law on sexuality and same-sex unions are not legally recognised. Read more via Asia One
