Czech Republic: Hundreds of people have demonstrated to legalize marriage for all

On September 12, 2019, several hundred people in Prague demonstrated for the enactment of an amendment to the Civil Code that would allow gays and lesbians to marry. The event on Malostranské náměstí was organized by the We Are Fair initiative. The protest wanted to point out that the draft amendment year and a quarter lies in the Chamber of Deputies and have not yet voted on it

While spending several days in Jordan on my way to Abu Dhabi, I met a gay man in his mid-30s who had recently fled the chaos in Iraq to seek asylum in Jordan. Three days later when I boarded the flight to Abu Dhabi, I had resolved that, though I could not mitigate the misfortune of millions, I could at least help one person. His name is Alaa Saleh.
